Three floors above the ballroom, a security officer stared at a wall of monitors.
Every second of the confrontation had been recorded.
But the camera footage wasn’t the only evidence.
Earlier that evening, Isabella had met with Detective Laura Bennett in a private room.
She had handed over:
Medical reports documenting repeated injuries.
Photographs of bruises taken over the previous year.
Voice recordings of Ethan threatening her.
Bank records showing hush-money payments to former employees.
Detective Bennett had listened without interruption.
“Why come tonight?” she finally asked.
Isabella’s answer had been simple.
“Because he thinks I’m too afraid to stand in front of him.”
Back in the ballroom, Ethan took a step backward.
