The ambulance doors slammed shut as paramedics fought to keep Khloe alive.
"Thirty-six-year-old female. Eight months pregnant. Massive trauma. Possible placental abruption," one medic shouted.
Harrison climbed into his car, his hands trembling for only a second before they became steady again. He didn't follow the ambulance immediately.

His senior investigator didn't ask why.
"Tonight?"

At the hospital, surgeons rushed Khloe into the operating room.
