Six months later, the high court of New York delivered its chilling, final verdict.
Grayson and Victoria Sterling were sentenced to twenty-five years in a federal penitentiary for corporate fraud, attempted murder, and illegal weapons conspiracy. Julian Sterling received thirty years, his name permanently scrubbed from the business registers of the world. The Sterling family assets were liquidated to pay off their massive corporate debts, and the remaining shell company was officially dissolved.
Chloe stood on the steps of the federal courthouse, wearing a simple, elegant navy blue suit. The flashing cameras of a hundred reporters surrounded her, but she didn't look at them. She looked down at the documents in her hands.
The Swiss High Court had officially ruled in her favor. The Aurora Mine trust had been unlocked. At twenty-six years old, the former orphan was now the sole owner of the largest diamond supply chain in the world, her mother’s legacy fully restored.
