Chapter 11 - An Unshakable Legacy

One year later.
The late afternoon sun cast a warm, golden hue over the rolling green lawns and shimmering infinity pool of the Vance estate.
The grand hall—once the site of violence and humiliation—was now filled with the joyous sounds of laughter and soft piano music.
Inside the sunroom, resting on a pedestal carved from white marble, sat a newly restored crystal music box—hand-crafted by the finest artisan in Italy, containing the exact original gears of Clara’s grandmother’s heirloom, now encased in unbreakable armored glass.
Clara stood near the glass doors overlooking the pool, holding a glass of sparkling cider.
Lucas walked up behind her, wrapping his massive, warm arms around her waist, pulling her softly against his chest. He rested his chin on her shoulder, breathing in the sweet scent of her jasmine perfume.
"What are you thinking about, sweetheart?" Lucas murmured, pressing a soft kiss against her neck.
Clara leaned back into his solid, comforting warmth, smiling as she looked out at the peaceful, sunlit garden.
"I was thinking about how much can change in a year," Clara said softly, turning in his arms to wrap her hands around his neck. "A year ago, I thought I had to endure the cruelty of this world alone."
Lucas looked down into her brown eyes, his heart overflowing with a fierce, eternal love.

"You will never be alone again, Clara," Lucas vowed softly, his voice deep and unwavering. "As long as I draw breath, I am your wall, your husband, and your protector."
He pulled her into a passionate, lingering kiss under the warm golden sky, knowing that their home, their love, and their legacy were finally safe, unbroken, and forever whole.
