Chapter 29: The Return of the Prodigal Son

Shortly after the victory in Tokyo, an unexpected legal petition was delivered to the foundation’s office. Daniel Cho, currently serving his sentence in a low-security federal penitentiary for his role in the Park Group’s initial fraud, requested a private meeting with Naomi and Audrey.

"He claims he has information regarding the final, hidden offshore trust of Henry Park," Audrey said, holding the legal request with a look of deep suspicion. "The trust that was supposed to be dissolved during the asset freeze but somehow vanished from the judicial ledger."

Jae-min accompanied Naomi to the correctional facility. The visitation room was austere, separated by a thick glass partition. When Daniel Cho walked in, he looked remarkably different. The expensive Italian suits and arrogant sneer were gone, replaced by the simple denim uniform of an inmate and a hollow, humbled expression.

He picked up the phone, looking at Naomi with a mixture of shame and exhaustion.

"I didn't ask you here to beg for a sentence reduction, Naomi," Daniel said, his voice raspy through the receiver. "I know I deserve to be here. I allowed myself to be corrupted by the illusion of the Park empire."

Naomi remained silent, her expression unreadable. "Why are we here, Daniel?"

Daniel took a deep breath. "Raymond and Helen had a secret agreement with a private banking firm in Singapore. A portion of Henry’s original legacy wasn't money—it was the physical deeds to a massive, unregistered network of heirloom seed vaults across East Asia. Henry spent his youth collecting pure, non-hybridized seeds before the agricultural corporations monopolized them. Vivian has been trying to access those vaults from her cell through an intermediary."

He slid a piece of paper with an encrypted alpha-numeric code across the document slot.

"The key to the vaults is tied to Audrey's legal birth certificate. Henry left it to his daughters, not to his wife or brother. Don't let Vivian sell those seeds to the tech conglomerates. They are the true foundation of everything Henry wanted to build."
