The classmate helped her gather the broken pieces.

Three simple words.
Come Home Safe.
His hands began to shake.

The girl looked surprised.

The principal closed his eyes.

A long silence followed.
Then his secretary rushed inside.
"Sir..."
"The boys' parents are here."
