Later that evening, while paramedics treated Marina’s hand, Elena opened the study safe.
Victor had always kept it locked.
Inside were property deeds, offshore account statements, and a folder marked CONFIDENTIAL.
Elena’s expression darkened.
The mansion was not Victor’s.
Neither were the investment properties.
Every major asset had been transferred months earlier into a family trust controlled by Elena.
Victor had forged documents in an attempt to seize ownership.
Marina remembered the papers she had accidentally found hidden in a desk drawer.
