Chapter 5 - A Discovery Under the Floorboards
Terrified by what she heard, Lily backed away, but her shoe caught the edge of a loose floorboard in the corridor. The board creaked loudly, popping up slightly from its nail. Panicking, Lily dropped to her knees to push it back down before anyone came out. As she reached into the dark crevice beneath the wood, her fingers brushed against something hard and metallic. She pulled it out: an old, tarnished brass key tied to a faded blue ribbon. Engraved on the brass were three small letters: H.V.R.
